World Magnetic Model 2025 Support Released
We’re excited to announce that CoordinateSharp has been updated to include the newly released World Magnetic Model (WMM) 2025!
The WMM is a critical resource used in navigation systems around the world. It enables accurate calculations of magnetic declination, which are essential for applications ranging from GPS devices to aviation and maritime navigation. The 2025 model reflects the latest changes in Earth's magnetic field, ensuring precise geospatial calculations for the next five years.
As part of this update, CoordinateSharp.Magnetic 2.1.1 introduces a new feature: default constructors for the Magnetic
class. This enhancement allows developers to easily initialize magnetic field elements based on the latest model without additional configuration.
By defaulting to the latest WMM, CoordinateSharp ensures seamless integration for developers, making magnetic calculations more accessible and reliable than ever.
If you're not yet familiar with the World Magnetic Model, it's a global standard updated every five years to account for the dynamic nature of Earth's magnetic field. These updates are essential for maintaining the accuracy of magnetic navigation systems.
